why kids yoga?

Yoga is a discipline that can lead kids on a path toward a calm and balanced mind. Presented in a child's language, yoga can help counter the stress experienced by children living in a hurry-up world.
 

Children are natural yogis. They are FEARLESS, they are FLEXIBLE, and they have this ability to TRUST and see the good in others. And lets not forget the major bonus here; when they're developing these amazing skills, it's making our lives as parents much easier.
 

In our classes we practice fun-filled yoga poses and breathing exercises where your little's will learn and increase their ability to RELAX and FOCUS. Want more benefits? Practicing yoga also promotes:

  • physical strength and flexibility
  • positive mental health 
  • inner strength and body awareness
  • self esteem and confidence
  • self acceptance
  • self control and emotional intelligence
  • resilience and growth mindset
  • healthy habits and life choices



SCHOOLS AND ELCs

At a time when stress in Australian schools is on the rise, yoga in the classroom is a great benefit to children's mental health. Today's students have more and more external stimuli coming from all directions and these classes encourage the development of strength, balance and flexibility as well as mindfulness and calmness and positive body awareness.

Kids in pre-kinder through to year 6 are taught yoga through storytelling and play. We incorporate yoga games, crafts, music and guided meditation as we introduce the basics of yoga and yoga poses.

As children reach secondary school, a typical class begins to resemble an adult yoga class, however we still have a bit of fun with some partner yoga, games and a guided meditation to help give kids a break from the "hurry-up" life they're typically exposed to.


FOR EDUCATORS AND TEACHERS or CORPORATE WORKPLACES

Our corporate yoga and mindfulness sessions help manage stress and promote physical and mental wellbeing. Bringing yoga into your classroom or workplace is a proactive step towards providing a productive, engaged and healthy working environment. 

We offer classes both onsite or virtually and can work them into your lunch breaks or before/after work. 


Now more than ever, it's so important to prioritise your own wellbeing.  They say, when you're in an emergency situation on an airplane, you put your own mask on first before helping those around you.  A clear and focused mind is an efficient one!

This 10 week course focuses on a different tool and life skill each week to help students with self-regulation and focus. Suitable for students kinder through to high school, the program is designed to help students navigate big feelings as they transition through all stages of life.

I work closely with you and your school to create a program that fits into your curriculum. Perhaps you can only fit in 4 weeks. Perhaps you'd like to do one hour long session per term. Classes can range from 30-60 minutes each and you can have as many or as little as you like!
